The holidays are over and you're ready to roll up your sleeves and get down to business. Good idea, dear Gemini. All the planets will be standing on the sidelines, enthusiastically rooting for your success every step of the way.
The year starts out with a bang. You may celebrate a small or large career victory on January 1 or 2, thanks to an electric interplay of the Sun and Uranus. In addition, a fat check may be heading your way early in the month - a wonderful morale booster to begin the year!

At the very same time, holiday bills will be making their way to your mailbox during the first week of January due to the full moon, January 3, in your house of personal financial resources. While you probably will have a few hefty checks to write, not only for department store bills but also possibly for insurance and other overhead, you also have positive aspects for increasing your income.

So while money will flow out, other cash will come in, and thank goodness for that! At least some of the extra income that arrives in early January will be unexpected and I say this because Uranus will be so well angled to this full moon. Miracles happen all the time! Uranus is in your house of career success, so it appears you will have a chance to make more money on the job, in one way or another.

Travel appears to be coming up for you too, if not in late January, then almost certainly by February. My advice will be to fly out in early February for luck and safety. January does not board well in terms of flight safety for you. Looking at February, I see good luck and peace with your flight in February as well as happy family reunion. Venus will be the first planet to make an appearance in your ninth house of travel, but more happy little planets will follow in the coming weeks. If you are drawing up travel plans now, it looks like you'll be able to get beautiful accommodations, for Venus brings a love of luxury. Look for bargain packages that may be available, as it looks like you can land a terrific upgrade, one that you'd never be able to get at any other time.

Not only will Venus make you happy, but part of Venus' job is to encourage new love, or to intensify love you already have. As you see, travel and love are linked in February, so keep that thought in mind!

You may also notice an extra emphasis on publishing or broadcasting projects. If you are working on a proposal or idea for a new venture, bring it up later in the month, after the Sun moves into Aquarius on January 20. Next month you will have a new moon to help you even more, and Mars will show up as well. When you have so many layers of aspects directed to the same place, it suggests that something big is on the way. Help things along now by being ready to have talks in the third week and beyond.

This same ninth house rules pursuits to get a college education and talks with those in academia, so if this fits, you will want to direct your attention to this goal now. You may be starting your spring semester or thinking ahead about the fall and reviewing brochures and applications. Perfect timing!

If you have a legal matter you need to bring to court, or have one that has been pending, you will see progress after January 20, for the same reasons mentioned above. By then, the Sun will be warming your ninth house of legal matters - a big help to you.

While it is unlikely that ALL these areas will be lit up, one or two could, so be ready. It's about to form a major theme that will run through early April.

The theme of money management and negotiation will suddenly get a big push forward in the second half of the month, this time with more force, at the new moon, January 18, and in the two weeks that follow. That new moon will energize your eighth house of other people's money, so you will have the green light to pursue talks about a loan, mortgage, refinancing plan, special sponsorship, a scholarship, pension, inheritance, bonus, prize, or other monies that would come to you in one big chunk.

Begin talks about a major loan or mortgage, or sort out the details of an inheritance or other financial deal at this new moon, January 18.

If you have been in talks about money to be divided at the end of a marriage or business partnership, have been trying to get child support, or have other negotiations about money due you, circle January 8, a superb day, when Mars and Saturn will both contribute special gifts to you. On that day, you'll find you can reach accord much more easily than usual, and that promises made will stick. Still, you have many opportunities to reach resolution this month, particularly after the new moon, January 18.

If your New Year's resolution is to become more knowledgeable about investing, financial markets, and other related subjects, you could not wish for a better time to begin your study. Pick up books, take a class, or have a consultation with a financial advisor from January 18 - 31.

You may also decide to see your accountant to sort out your taxes so that you'll be free of that duty when warmer days begin to roll 'round. If you think you'll owe the government money, getting started early will give you time to work out a plan to find the money to send. This way, you'll have far less stress than if you hear about the amount due on the day before you need to send it in.

Agents, brokers, lawyers, advisors, and any other middlemen will be gems now and in months to come. With Jupiter in your seventh house of serious collaborations, it's clear that a go-between you choose will create opportunities that you would not find on your own. Of course, you will have to do your homework and check references carefully, but if you do, your chart shows outstanding possible gain is due you from collaborations, representatives, and experts. If you choose to do things solo to save money, you might well do yourself a disservice. Sign up a qualified expert, then sit back and let this person do his or her job for you.

If you are an actor, writer, or other creative talent wondering if you need an agent to represent you in the coming year for future projects, the answer is that you probably do. This won't always be the case, but it appears to be very true for you in 2007, due to the glowing position of Jupiter in your partnership house, a once-in-twelve year position.

This month, once Venus enters Pisces in your career sector on January 27, the buzz about you in your industry will rise, and all will be quite thrilling.

Romantically, last month could have been an important month for seeing exciting romantic developments if you have been dating or if you are currently married or living together. If you were ready to bring your relationship closer, last month's excellent aspects indicate that your partner was ready to match your feelings. This month still favors those who have someone they love, rather than singles that are hoping to meet someone new. (There are good date nights, so I will point those out, dear single Gemini. Give me a moment - I want to do attached Gemini first.)

In January, if you have someone, you will want, above all, privacy. You may have shared your sweetheart (and if married, your spouse is still your sweetheart) - now plan to simply enjoy your relationship. You won't need to analyze things, so give that overactive brain of yours a rest and just let things happen naturally. Looking at your chart, you shouldn't have any major decisions or adjustments to make in your relationship this month. In fact, your alliance could easily feel as cozy as a warm, cuddly bathrobe.

If you have no special someone, your best night to be out and about will be January 12, a Friday, when Venus and Jupiter combine energies in the most sensuous, joyful way. With the moon in Scorpio, this day mixes sugar and spice in a sexy way. It's one of my favorite days of the month for you and many other signs.

Money may be tight initially, so no matter what your dating / marital status, when choosing things to do, you may want to center on doing activities that cost little or nothing. Taking a romantic walk in the snow, going ice-skating, or browsing books all afternoon at a bookstore that provides comfy couches sounds like fun. Or, sample some of the new recipes you've been meaning to try by cooking together in the kitchen. Any of these activities can be as much fun as more pricey activities. (Indeed, the latter might really appeal to you - Gemini loves books!)

Venus will tour Aquarius, a fellow air sign, from January 3 to 26, a lovely development, for Venus in this position should provide a good boost to your social life, too. Friends will be more present in your life than they were last month, and you'll likely have more things to do together.
